30+ questions you should ask your customer about Teams provisioning
Last updated on February 27, 2023
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you should know by now that Teams provisioning is sort of my forté. Even though every Teams provisioning project is different, they always begin the same way: I have a specification meeting with my new customer about what they wish for from their Teams provisioning solution.
In the meeting, I tell my client what automated Teams provisioning means and why it is invaluable to most organizations. Then I will proceed to tell them examples of what my other customers wanted and ask questions that help me draft the specification and plan the solution architecture. Even though the questions are always pretty much the same, the answers vary tremendously depending on the company culture, what products and services they are allowed to use, and other line-of-business-specific needs and challenges.
As the number of things we can include in our Teams provisioning solutions has grown, so has the list of questions I need to remember to ask my customers. I put together a questionnaire to ensure I still remember to cover everything and keep our meetings short and productive.
These days, I send this questionnaire (along with my other blog post) to my clients in advance, so they can already get acquainted with the idea before our meeting. In the meeting, we review the questions and answers together and discuss anything that might require further clarification.
Today, I want to share the questions with you! On my behalf, I want to ensure that the Teams provisioning solutions we create are as high quality and easily adopted as possible, and I firmly believe that these questions help us do just that.
What are you looking for from a Teams provisioning solution?
I recommend you print out your answers (this web page) as a PDF. Your responses go nowhere upon pressing the above button.
Afterword
Commonly, clients have some business-specific needs that are not addressed in the questionnaire and need to be discussed in the meeting. After getting answers to all the questions, it is possible to design the solution architecture to best suit the customer-specific scenario.
